"Love at first sight is easy to understand; it’s when two people have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle." ~ Amy Bloom

Have you noticed that we're vamping up our wall quote collections and adding uber-cool new designs (like this one, my new favorite) and bigger better sizes? (so far we've done Bathroom, Bedroom, Boys and Entryway).

I'm totally adding this quote to the vamped-up Love wall quote collection (when we get there). Do you have any other great quotes to add that you haven't seen yet in our collection?

Interior Design Tip: Choosing a Focal Point

I love HGTV. (I mean really love it) One of my favorite things to watch for is how each designer chooses a focal point for the room and then builds the design, the look, the feel, the textures and colors and accessories of the entire room around that focal point.

Sometimes it's an architectural feature - like a fireplace or a huge window. Other times it's a picture, a mirror or a dramatic piece of furniture. But it's always something interesting to look at, something colorful or texturally and visually appealing.

The best, most inviting rooms have fabulous focal points. And you know - there are all kinds of great designs from our collections that work wonders as focal points in any room.

This design will set the tone in the bedroom - elegant, romantic, classy - a real retreat from the hectic day-to-day and a reminder of what, at the end of the day, is truly most important.

In the family room or great room, this design sets a warm, welcome tone. Come, play - be a part of the family. We're here for each other - through thick and thin.
For your entryway - something fancy, traditional and eye-catching. This here, this home, this is where it's happenin'. This is real life.

And, of course, you can always design your own wall quote. Holly used a favorite Bible verse, highlighted important words with a contrasting font, add a few accessories and we've got a work of art - a beautiful, strong focal point for a lovely, comfortable room.

Psssst.

Have you seen the March discount? Trust me, you're gonna wanna.

I found this neat little tidbit in my wanderings today: If you're looking for tulips, find a bouquet with sturdy stems and dense flower heads that haven’t yet opened. And when you get them home, add a few shiny pennies to the bottom of the vase. The copper will help the stems to stay standing up straight. (neat fact, eh?)

Appliances? Yessir.

Ah.... so many possibilities. And it's so eaItalicsy to do.

This customer raves about vinyl on her appliances: "Wow, does decaling ever go on nice with stainless steel appliances. Just peels right off, real slick! And you can still clean over them with a damp cloth."

Absolutely. I'm thinking washing machine, toaster, oven, curling iron.... okay I know. That's getting a bit carried away. But can you imagine all the fun?

February Customer Photo Winner

Isn't this the perfect spot for this entryway wall quote? I love it.

Congrats, Alison.
(can't wait to see what you'll do with the $50 gift certificate you've won!)

January Customer Photo Winner

I just realized that we never did choose/announce a winner for January's customer photo submissions - and there were some fabulous ones. Wanna see how fabulous? Check these out.

Isn't this lovely? This gal customized our very popular Inspirational Wall Quote #2 (Dream with the Eleanor Roosevelt quote) to fit this - a favorite song of her mother's, recently deceased. What a lovely tribute, no?

I absolutely love this quote - I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Look for it as we update our nursery wall quotes section soon. It's gonna be fabulous (just like this custom design). Font used? Adorable.

Ah - one can never have too many reminders. Great use of our wall art collection (a chinese floral design here) and the ever-popular Passions Conflict font.

Frilly froo froo. Can't beat that. It's the perfect setting for a fairytale ending... (which is why you'll find this design in the girls wall quote section - of course!)

This is another quote we totally love. In fact, we liked it so much that we've added it to our updated boys wall quote section. This custom design uses the Goudy Handtooled and BeauRivage One fonts. And I love that wall color - so rich.

But.... without further ado... let me show you January's winner: this lovely craft room.

You have to say - this design was meant to live in a space like this. Congrats, Kami. (did you see that we used Kami's photo as one of our new home page photo tags? It's under office - for home office, you know. Shnazzy, right?)

A huge thank you for all of the great photos and submissions.
Keep 'em coming!

Have an Emma? Know an Emma? Are you an Emma?

If so, can I give you this? It's 8" tall x 29" wide in Soft Pink.
Lovely, really.

Be quick. Speak up. First to say so gets it.
(and be sure to leave your contact info; it's so disappointing to not be able to send off lovely things)
